Sra. María de las Mercedes Rossiñol Zaforteza is a psychologist (psicóloga) practising in Palma de Mallorca. She sees Sanitas patients at Centro Médico Sanitas Palma on Avinguda Gran i General Consell and runs a separate private consulting room on Carrer General Félix Mas, also in Palma. Her practice is open to adults, adolescents and children referred through the Sanitas network.

Areas of practice

Sra. Rossiñol's day-to-day clinical work covers the common presentations a Sanitas-network psychologist sees in private practice: anxiety and panic, mood and depressive disorders, stress-related conditions, adjustment difficulties around work, family or relocation, and child and adolescent behavioural and learning issues. She works in Spanish and Catalan, which matters for Mallorcan and Catalan-speaking families who prefer therapy in their first language.

Her therapy style and treatment plan are agreed individually with each patient. Sessions are typically weekly or fortnightly depending on what is being worked on, with the option to step down to maintenance sessions once the presenting problem has stabilised.

Booking through Sanitas

Sanitas members can book through the Sanitas app, or by calling Centro Médico Sanitas Palma on 971 195 799. Most Sanitas plans cover psychology sessions; the number of sessions per year and any per-session copayment depend on your specific policy. On Sanitas Más Salud Plus there is a copayment per session; on plans without copayment, sessions are covered in full up to the policy limit. Some Sanitas products require a GP referral before a first psychology appointment - confirm with Sanitas before booking. For a clearer picture of what is and isn't included before you book, our guide to Sanitas mental health cover walks through session limits, referral requirements and what each policy tier includes.

Why see a Sanitas psychologist in Palma

Mallorca's public mental-health service runs through the Servei de Salut de les Illes Balears, with first appointments in primary-care psychology often booked weeks or months ahead. Going through Sanitas gives you faster access, continuity with the same therapist over a course of treatment, and the choice between a centrally located Sanitas-network site and a private consulting room. For families in Palma and the surrounding municipalities - Calvià, Marratxí, Bunyola, Esporles - having a bilingual therapist on the island avoids the inconvenience of mainland referrals or video-only sessions when in-person work is more appropriate.
