Tenerife Loro Park Loro Park (or known as Loro Parque in Spanish) is the most popular wildlife centre in Tenerife, which plays host to over one million visitors from across the globe each year. This 13.5-hectare nature sanctuary displays some of the most unique examples of both domestic and foreign wildlife and plant species on the planet.

Interestingly enough, Loro Park was originally designed as a sanctuary for parrots and since its inception in 1973 it holds the largest and most varied collection of these birds in the world; just over 350 species. The park also contains the world’s largest dolphin exhibition pool, the largest penguin display and the longest shark tunnel in Europe.

What is There to See at the Loro Park?

Besides presenting visitors with vivid displays of a multitude of wildlife set in their natural environments, Loro Park also has a number of visitor attractions, which have proved themselves to be immensely popular. The dolphin shows have always been a favourite for both the young and old alike and are scheduled four times every day. Observers can watch these creatures perform a variety of acrobatics in the massively large dolphin pool. Loro Park has also recently acquired a handful of orca whales. These creatures have show times three times throughout the day. Sea lion shows are also available and can be seen no less than five times a day while the famous display known as the Loro Show and its multitude of parrots takes place 6 times a day.

Besides these wildlife attractions, Loro Park also offers many additional facilities to enjoy a day outdoors. One can race go-karts, play an exciting game of paintball, take a trek through Forestal Park or even play a few rounds of bowling in their Megabowl bowling complex.
