Exercises That Help The Body And Mind Health Tips

Exercising is a great way to lose weight and remain healthy, but it can also do wonders for your mental well being too. A little bit of exercise every day can help reduce stress levels, anxiety and make you feel much more positive through the day. You don't need to visit the gym every day to get your fitness fix, as just a brisk 20 minute walk can get the happy hormones flowing. Here are some quick exercises you can do at home, that will help you stay fit, healthy and happy.

Jumping Jacks

A lot of us will remember doing jumping jacks when we were children, but that doesn't mean you can't do them as an adult too! This cardio exercise will get the adrenaline pumping through your veins, which will return those happy hormones too. As they bring back memories of us being a kid, you'll soon be laughing and smiling whilst burning the calories.

If you're not sure what a jumping jack is, it's simple! Stand with your feet together and arms by your side, standing up straight. Now you need to jump with your arms and legs going outwards (a bit like a star), before landing straight again. Just a few minutes of these a day is a great way to get the heart beating faster.

Jogging on the Spot

Jogging is a great way to release happy hormones, as well as burn off some extra calories. If you don't have time to go out for a walk or a run, then this is the next best thing. You can jog on the spot at home, in front of the television or whilst doing the housework. You'll be surprised at how good you feel after just 5-10 minutes of jogging a day!

You don't really need any special equipment for this little exercise routine, but it is advised you invest in a good pair of running shoes. This will help stop any unwanted stress on the legs which can cause injury. Make sure you lift your legs up as high as you can, and swing your arms to keep momentum.

Dancing

Who doesn't enjoy dancing around the house? Or going to your favourite night club and showing off your moves? Simply stick on your favourite radio station or CD and start dancing around! Dancing really doesn't feel like exercise, but it will be doing you more good than you can imagine. You'll be burning calories quickly and it also gives your happiness a boost too.

Why not turn dancing into a regular thing and start learning some real moves? YouTube has a whole range of free dance class videos that are perfect for beginners or experts. Copy the moves and listen to the instructor as you dance to your favourite type of music. You'll be desperate to go out and show off what you have learnt, once you've perfected a routine.

Playing with the Kids

If you have children at home then you have the best exercise equipment that money can't buy! Running around the park, or just the house, with your children can burn an incredible amount of calories. It's another exercise that doesn't really feel like exercise, and it will make you feel great too.

Not only will it help you keep fit and happy, but it will help the whole family to do the same. Your children will love playing different games with you on trips to the park, going cycling or bouncing up and down on the trampoline. Their happiness will in turn, make you feel happy. It's a win-win situation for all.
