As the demand for rental properties continues to surge across Spain, the Costa del Sol has solidified its position as a hotbed of desirable locations. The Idealista ranking for the second quarter of 2023 has unveiled an impressive lineup of Costa del Sol municipalities, with a total of ten making their mark in the list of the 100 most sought-after rental destinations in the country.

Topping this list of sought-after locations is Santa Coloma de Gramenet, a town nestled in the metropolitan expanse of Barcelona. This quarter, it has secured the coveted first place with an average monthly rental price of 842 euros. The Costa del Sol, renowned for its picturesque coastal vistas and vibrant lifestyle, showcases its allure prominently with multiple municipalities taking their place in the top ranks.

The allure of the Costa del Sol is undeniable. Idealista's report underscores how this region boasts not only popularity but also exclusivity, with some areas like Benahavís and Marbella commanding rental prices exceeding a staggering 3,000 euros per month. Estepona follows suit, with rental costs soaring past 2,700 euros per month.

Within Malaga province, various municipalities have firmly established their positions in the ranking. Fuengirola leads the charge, clinching the ninth spot in the overall list. Torremolinos and Malaga city follow closely, securing the 12th and 17th positions, respectively. Other municipalities from the Costa del Sol region that feature prominently include Benalmádena, Mijas, Rincón de la Victoria, Torrox, Estepona, Marbella, and Benahavís.

Interestingly, the report delves into the rental landscape, revealing that a substantial 30 percent of the analysed municipalities offer rental rates surpassing the 1,000 euros per month threshold. Furthermore, half of the municipalities that experience the highest rental demand present properties with monthly costs exceeding 900 euros.

While the outskirts of Madrid and Barcelona have gained significant traction as rental magnets, the Costa del Sol stands out as a prime destination, particularly as the summer season approaches.
