Does Sanitas health insurance include dental cover?
Yes. Sanitas health insurance includes dental cover, at a level that varies by plan. Sanitas Mas Salud, Mas Salud Family, Students, Residents Visa and Professional include Sanitas Dental 21: more than 40 services at no charge and up to 21% off other treatments. What the Dental Cover add-on covers
You can add dental cover to your Sanitas health plan through the Sanitas dental network - a set of services included at no cost, plus discounted prices on everything else. There are four tiers, so you only pay for the level of cover you need.
Sanitas Dental 21 is included free on the Mas Salud plans, Professional, the Students plan and the Residents Visa plan. If you want more services included or bigger discounts, the Sanitas Dental, Milenium and Premium tiers go further.
Every tier uses the Sanitas dental network across Spain, with no waiting periods and no pre-existing-condition checks, and can be added to your health plan or taken as a standalone dental policy.
How to add it: All add-ons are selected at the application form stage - when you take out a new Sanitas plan or at renewal - and apply to everyone insured on the policy.

- No waiting periods: Sanitas Dental Cover has no waiting periods and no checks on pre-existing conditions, so included services can be used straight away.
- Standalone or add-on: Sanitas Dental Cover tiers can be added to a Sanitas health plan or taken as a standalone dental policy.
- Co-payments: Added to a health plan, Sanitas Dental, Milenium and Premium are the versions without co-payments; the co-payment versions of Milenium and Premium are sold as standalone dental policies.
What changes by plan
Dental 21 is the cover that comes free with most plans; the upgrade tiers are what you add on top.
- Sanitas Mas Salud and Mas Salud Family: Dental 21 included, with more than 40 services at no charge and 21% off the rest; you can upgrade to Sanitas Dental, Milenium or Premium without co-payments, with everyone on the policy taking the same tier.
- Sanitas Mas Salud Plus and Mas Salud Optima: Dental 21 included, with a €3 co-payment for each included dental service; the same upgrades are available without co-payments.
- Sanitas Mas 90 and Mas 90 Plus: Sanitas Dental is already included, with more than 50 services for a €3 co-payment each, up to 40% off other treatments and 60% of paid dental treatment refunded up to €200 a year; the upgrade tiers cannot be added to these plans.
- Sanitas Premium 500: Sanitas Dental is already included, with 65 services at no additional cost, up to 40% off other treatments and 80% of paid dental treatment refunded up to €400 a year after an 8 month wait; the upgrade tiers cannot be added to this plan.
- Sanitas Top Quantum: dental cover is already included, with 24 treatments at no charge and discounts on all other services; the upgrade tiers cannot be added to this plan.
- Sanitas Students: Dental 21 included, with more than 40 treatments at no charge and 21% off the rest; the upgrade tiers cannot be added to this plan.
- Sanitas Professional: Dental 21 included, and you can upgrade to Sanitas Dental, Milenium or Premium.
- Sanitas Professional Plus: Dental Basico is included instead of Dental 21, with 20 services for a single €3 co-payment per appointment day, and you can upgrade to Sanitas Dental, Milenium or Premium.
- Sanitas Residents Visa: Dental 21 included, and you can upgrade to Sanitas Dental (€16,70 a month) or Dental Premium (€14,90 a month) without co-payments; Dental Milenium is not offered on this plan.
- Sanitas Accede, Avanza and Unico: basic dental is included (check-ups, scale and polish, wound treatment and simple extractions), with a €3 co-payment per visit day on Accede and Unico, and you can add Sanitas Dental, Milenium or Premium for the full service list.

How much does it cost to add dental cover to a Sanitas plan?
Sanitas Dental 21 costs nothing extra on the plans that include it. As an add-on, Sanitas Dental Milenium costs from €11,20 a month, Dental Premium from €14,90 a month and Sanitas Dental from €16,70 a month. Standalone dental policies are priced separately.
Can I upgrade my dental cover on every Sanitas plan?
The dental upgrade tiers cannot be added to Sanitas Mas 90, Mas 90 Plus, Premium 500, Top Quantum or Students. On Sanitas Residents Visa you can add Sanitas Dental or Dental Premium, but not Dental Milenium. On the other Sanitas plans you can upgrade to Sanitas Dental, Milenium or Premium.
Which dental treatments do I pay for with Sanitas dental cover?
With Sanitas dental cover you pay for treatments that are not on your tier's list of included services, at Sanitas dental network prices less the tier's discount. That discount is up to 21% on Dental 21 and up to 40% on Sanitas Dental, Milenium and Premium. On Sanitas Mas Salud Plus, Mas Salud Optima, Mas 90 and Mas 90 Plus, each included service also carries a €3 co-payment.
