British In Spain: Registering To Vote In The UK General Election Expat Tips

Just a reminder that if you are British citizen living here in Spain you still have the right to vote in the upcoming UK General Election which is set for December 12.

As long as you were registered to vote in the UK within the last 15 years (or in some cases if you were too young to have registered when you left the UK) you will be eligible to vote as an overseas voter.

You can vote by post or via proxy, however for postal votes you must register to vote by 5pm on November 26. The deadline for voting by proxy is December 4.

All the information you need can be found at the following official government page https://www.gov.uk/voting-when-abroad

If you are originally from Northern Ireland, the deadline to register to vote by post or proxy is 5pm on November 21.

Full and official information can be found at http://www.eoni.org.uk/Vote/Voting-by-post-or-proxy

Please make sure that you share this information with your friends and family living in Spain.
