What does the Sanitas Family Assistance add-on cover?
Sanitas Family Assistance is an add-on, from €2,20 a month per person, that sends help to your home in Spain. It includes up to 30 hours of home help over a month, childcare, care for dependants and school runs.
HealthPlan Spain is an authorised Sanitas agent (agent code 22395) in Marbella that arranges Sanitas policies and add-ons in English, at the same price as buying direct from Sanitas.
The family assistance add-on (Asistencia Familiar) sends qualified help to your home when an unexpected situation leaves you unable to look after your home and family - a hospital stay, illness or a death.
The help is arranged when you are hospitalised for more than 48 hours, convalescing at home for more than 5 days on sick leave, or in the event of death - and you can use all of the services or only the ones you need.
It is taken for everyone insured on the policy, with no pre-existing-condition checks. There are no waiting periods when you add it at application or renewal; a 2-month qualification period applies if you add it at any other time. The services apply in Spain.
How to add it: All add-ons are selected at the application form stage - when you take out a new Sanitas plan or at renewal - and apply to everyone insured on the policy.
